He majored in transportation design. He took off and landed back in India. He then asked his affluent father who owned an electronic business to help him out. Chhabria made a replacement horn for Premier Padmini car and it sold beyond his belief. He made more money in a month than his dad made in a year. Dilip now had the factory to himself and his business up and running.

In Dilip for the first time displayed his talent by modifying a Gypsy. He then worked on the Armada and developed the design for the first Scorpio.
